Martin Family Charters understands that there is a technical difference in Fishing Guides and Charter Captains. Although most Charter Captains are Fishing Guides, not all Fishing Guides are Charter Captains. When booking a freshwater or saltwater fishing trip for a monetary fare, we suggest to research the business involved to ensure that they are USCG Licensed. This means that they have had background checks, are CPR certified, and that they are capable of navigating all waters in ANY weather condition to ensure safety for their passengers.

When it comes to fishing, however, our guests understand that the degree of catch success fluctuates. It is impossible to determine exactly how many fish will be caught, or exactly where these fish will be at all times. The willingness to try different locations and techniques is imperative, and really the basis of why it’s so rewarding when we have successful fishing outings. Martin Family Charters takes in to account years of fishing the waters of Tampa Bay, Central Orlando Lakes, and the Space Coast to draw up a gameplan to give guests the best opportunity for success on fishing charters. Sometimes, this may mean that only sustainable fish species may be harvested, even if it is allowable under Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regulations. Martin Family Charters works closely with the FWC to aid in Reef Fish Surveys, fish sustainability, and current water conditions.
